Well, it happened to me……and now much to my house mate’s horror I am now the proud owner of a limited edition Jack Daniel’s DRUM KIT!
Believe it or not I have secretly always wanted to play, never really thinking of the consequences related to owning such a loud instrument!
So, as I am now renting an inner city townhouse, whose walls are thin enough to hear my neighbour’s sneeze, it has occurred to me before my first rendition of Midnight Oil’s “Power and the Passion” I should seek advice about my rites as a tenant to make “beautiful “noise! J

21 Tenant’s use of premises – ss 10 and 184
(2) The tenant must not –
(a) use the premises for an illegal purpose; or
(b) cause a nuisance by the use of the premises; or
Examples of things that may constitute a nuisance –
• using paints or chemicals on the premises that go onto or
cause odours on adjoining land
• causing loud noises
• allowing large amounts of water to escape onto adjoining land
(c) interfere with the reasonable peace, comfort or privacy of
a neighbour of the tenant; or
(d) allow another person on the premises to interfere with the
reasonable peace, comfort or privacy of a neighbour of
the tenant.
