I sold a home within days last week. I was expecting the home to be popular – it was immaculately refurbished. However, what really surprised me was the level of enquiry I received from buyers responding to one of the photo images we used to market the property on the web.
Yes, the property has a chicken coop where some feathered friends happily reside. My phone was running hot last week with buyers fascinated with the prospect of keeping chooks and enjoying freshly laid eggs every morning at a property so close to the city!
During the first open home, there was not a visitor who did not venture up to the coop to “check out the girls”. My happy purchaser (presently living in an apartment in the city) had to organise a 2nd inspection before moving forward with their intentions to buy after admitting to spending more time inspecting the chooks than the house during their initial visit!
I am a firm believer in home staging or styling before selling……perhaps ‘chook staging’ in the future?!
