It seems buyers have found a new way to escape the daily grind by bringing a bit of tranquility to their homes. Buyers opting for a landscape oasis over open grassed yards proves time poor buyers, are welcoming a home that represents a little tranquility amongst the daily chaos in their lives.

Buyers commonly ask for properties with a rainforest, bush or tropical feel – a garden haven likely to attract native birds and wildlife. Needless to say I am quick to remind them that suburbia rarely attracts Koalas, Kangaroos or emus –  possums are a given! So when you are next considering an improvement for the long term, perhaps look outside the square. Rather than changing the colour of the exterior of your house, why not invest in booking a landscape gardener to assess a few different options you could look at for planting in your front and rear yards.

If you have no plans to move in the near 2-3 years, this sort of planning will be a great offset investment for your future sale price. Now I am not advising you totally remove grass tiles and all… rather think about investing in a landscape architect to help you in creating a relaxing atmosphere you can escape to.
