Recently there has been much banter regarding the population growth in Queensland.
South East Queensland is one of the fastest growing regions and on the 20th October this year it was reported that there were now 4,444,444 Queenslanders. This number indicated that there was a 2.6% increase or a record 112,666 people over the 12 months to 31 March – this converts to 2167 new residents weekly!
It was reported earlier this year that “The region’s growth will generate demand for 754,000 new dwellings” (Department of Infrastructure and Planning)
The real estate market looks set to pick up due to this growth, and is only going to get better as “Queensland’s population is expected to reach five million in 2016, six million in 2028, seven million in 2042 and eight million in 2057″ (The Courier Mail)
